Maurice Cherry, Chairman of The Black Weblog Awards recently sent past winners of The Black Weblog Awards a newsletter blast about what they are doing at SXSW this year.
BWA has a panel at SXSW Interactive Festival on Friday, March 12 at 3:30 CT called Black Blogging Rockstars. And will be showing off the quotes that users leave via the Posterous site during their presentation. Be sure to check that out.
Are You A Black Blogging Rockstar?
If you are a Black blogger, we want to hear from you and include you in our presentation at SXSW. This is a chance for others to learn about what you do and alert them to your online presence.
What are we looking for?
We want you to answer the following question for us: What makes you a black blogging rockstar?
Send us a quote, an audio file, or a YouTube video link with your reply. We're not looking for anything super in-depth here; shorter is better. Two to three sentences (if it's a quote), or less than a minute (if it's audio or video) is exactly what we need. Also, let us know your name and your blog's name (and URL).
How will these be used?
We will post the audio, video, and quotes right here on this site! We will also mention the site and use the audio, video and quotes during our "Black Blogging Rockstars" panel as well.
Is there a deadline?
Yes...and no. Our panel is on March 12, 2010 at 3:30pm CST, so we will need as much user-generated content as possible so we can represent the variety of Black bloggers out there. However, after the panel, this website will remain online and have new information added as often as we get it.
I'm ready! How can I submit?
Send us an e-mail to post@blackbloggingrockstars.posterous.com with the following information:
Your name (if you blog under a pseudonym, please provide that instead)
Your blog's name
Your blog's URL
Your quote, audio file (mp3), or your video link (YouTube, Vimeo, etc.).
The Fine Print
We do ask that you keep all quotes to two to three sentences, all audio or video to less than a minute long. 3eighteen media respectfully reserves the right to edit quotes for brevity or to not use any quotes, audio, or video which include profanity or harsh language, or that exceed the stated posting requirements. Quotes, audio, and video remain the property of the original data creator (that means you).
3eighteen media, any of the Black Blogging Rockstars panelists and/or moderators, or any of the Black Blogging Rockstars panelists and/or moderators' online or offline properties are not held responsible for the content or opinions stated by any user's submission.
