Twitter has become kind of a universal meeting place of the blogging minds. From bloggers who get one view a day to those who get thousands all can come together in one central location. This is especially evident on Sunday nights at 8pm Central on Twitter. That's because that is when bloggers across genres get together and discuss various topics in an effort to improve as bloggers by building off the experience and suggestions of others. The Twitter hashtag chat #blogchat was started by Mack Collier.
Here are 4 reasons why every blogger should be participating in #blogchat:
1. Learn by the Successes and Failures of others.
This is one of the main reasons I participate in #blogchat. It is a way to know what works and what doesn't without having to go through the trial and error myself. Some 476 bloggers participated in the past #blogchat. That is 476 opportunities to find out what you are doing wrong, what you are doing right and what you need to tweak to reach your blogging goals.
2. Networking
This is a great opportunity for lesser known bloggers to rub shoulders with some of the top bloggers on the internet. I personally have been able to develop relationships with bloggers who have helped me raise the bar in regard to my blogging potential. It may also lead to guest posting opportunities that result in what every blogger in the world ultimately wants: More traffic.
3. You distinguish yourself as a serious blogger
We know most everyone has a blog nowadays. And I mean literally everyone from Grandma to the family cat. Your participation in such a conversation as #blogchat shows that you are serious about blogging. That it is more than just a hobby or a pastime for you, but a genuine aspiration. There's no better PR than that.
4. Free Support
Blogging can become very internal even though you post everything on the internet for all to see. You can feel discouraged and frustrated when you don't see the growth that you desire. Many times you think you are the only one who feels that way.
#Blogchat shows you that you aren't alone. Any serious blogger struggles with confidence about the direction of their blog. You have a platform for sharing those feelings with a surprising number who feel the very same way as you do.
So bloggers what are you waiting for? I use a site called Twubs to follow #blogchat conversations. Why not jump in there and do the same? Above all participate, learn, network and enjoy the benefits of Twitter's #blogchat.

Thank you Toya for the great overview of #blogchat. I really think Twitter chats hold HUGE learning and networking potential that's largely being untapped. But that's changing, #blogchat is growing like a weed, and I am constantly seeing new chats popping up.
great job Toya! and thanks for the reply Mack!
Thank you so much for the opportunity and allowing me to bring some attention to #blogchat :)
